PACK will be having its SIXTH annual Boliver weekend "camping trip" this year, after a 2 year absence due to Hurricane Ike. This will be a "luxury" trip as we'll be staying at a nice beach house which has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and 12 beds. So the house can comfortably accomodate a maximum of 13 people (if one person doesn't mind sleeping on the sofa or on the balcony.) If others want to stop by dinner, GREAT, but more than 13 fat snoring fishermen under the same roof is TOO cozy. By the way, DON'T FORGET YOUR EARPLUGS!
The beach house, named SOS, is about 1 1/2 miles from Stingeree Marina. We have access to the house at noon on Friday, and must leave it (in a cleaned condition) by 4 PM on Sunday. SHEETS AND TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED, SO BRING YOUR OWN.
This is one of the few houses that survived Ike, and has been fully renovated so it'll even be nicer than before! Because of this, and supply/demand the cost of the trip is $55/person. Beds aren't guaranteed til I have your check, so please don't wait til the last minute.
Friday night, Joel will provide a delicious brisket dinner which will be ready when you arrive. I will also make breakfast Saturday morning. Am I a great trip leader or what?
Saturday evening is the famous PACK pot-luck dinner where you will enjoy both Blackened Redfish a la Joel and Ron Romeis Famous Fried Fish . Because this is a group-effort dinner, I will ask everyone to bring something, such as:
1. Vegetable side dish
2. 2nd side dish
3.salad
4.dessert
5.ice chest/ice
6. dips/chips/snacks
7.soda
8.someone to take care of coffee
9. Sunday breakfast stuff
We've never been short of fish before! PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU WILL BRING. I will take care of plates, cups, plasticware, aluminum foil, trash bags, paper towels etc.
And now the fishing! In the past, most of us launch from the Stingeree Marina and fish within a 1 or 2 mile radius. Just a couple of hundred yards from the marina is a terrific marsh area where I have always managed to find honey holes full of reds. I've always had luck with live bait, which is sold at the marina. (They also have a very good resturant there, if you should want to come in for a good lunch.)
Tides should be excellent all weekend, which is why I chose this particular weekend.

| Fishing Options: |

Bolivar offers numerous fishing options. In the past we concentrated on exploring the maze of marsh and back lakes located just a couple hundred yards from the Stingeree Marina where we launched. The flat behind the marsh is shallow and ideal for fly-fishing for reds!
