3. Fishing Reports on events/fishing
Goose Island Weekend Trip - the early arrivals had catches of dink's and rat's with Greg providing his tasty chili Friday evening. The winds kept most off the water on Saturday but Brad and Bob found a protected cove and were out catching reds. Saturday evening Greg whipped up his version of King Ranch chicken followed by a movie. We really had to rough it. Sunday morning it was 38 degrees and breezy so most headed back home but not Brad and Bob. They returned to their honey hole and proceeded to catch more fish. Not as much time for fishing as we all would have liked. Oh well! With a chef doing the cooking, who needs fish.
The Panther Point weekend trip made for unforgettable sunsets and sunrises. PACK biggest trip of the year rewarded everyone with almost more fish than they could haul. The Skimmer took outr a group and others took their own mother ships, but in two days of camping you can't forget Dennis's gumbo and Dick's fajita's.
Ron reported that he and Bob made a trip to Salt Lake where they chased birds around the lake and caught a few trout. Note: If you are in a kayak chasing birds is a time consuming and exhausting way to catch fish!
Buzz reported on his trip to Mexico where the fishing wasn’t that great until he caught a 10lb bone fish.
Dick has been fishing Seawolf Park area for flounder but has not had the success that he normally experienced there. He says wait for water to get a little colder.
Eli paddled out and camped at Shoalwater where he saw reds everywhere.
Eric had been to Turtle Bay and found the water level so low that the reds were stacked up at the end of the channels.
