Scott is a trained Shimano Reel tech and will be showing us how to do basic reel cleaining and maintenance. Also, he will be discussing some advance repair tips.
Bring your Shimano bait cast reel and the basic tools mentioned in the below Shimano Maintenance Tips Summary. We will have tables set up for us to work at and rubbing alchohol, Q tips, paper towels, and lighter fluid for bearing cleaning will be provided. Also, you might bring an old tooth brush for cleaning some parts. Also you may want to bring your reel schematic if you have it or you may down load it from the web address reference in the maintenance summary below. The maintenance summary below is referencing an MG 50 in the photos, but all these tips are for all Shimano baitcast reels. For those us who have dunked reels this is a good way to know how to salvage that reel before it to late and also how to maintain a reel properly for that next fishing trip.
