Fishing options:

Spring and Fall offer especially good fishing in this beautiful bay for trout, redfish and flounder. If you haven't fished Christmas Bay before don't miss this opportunity - it's a great place for yaks. Key areas for fishing are:
·         The south shoreline in both directions from the launch area
·         Churchhill Bayou and Cold Pass are 1-2 miles NE of the launch area
·         Mud Cut is about 3 miles N of the launch area
·         The north shoreline starting at Christmas Point Reef is about 2 miles N of the launch area
·         Oyster reefs starting with the Targets are 2 miles SW of the launch with Rattlesnake Point about 2 miles further SW
You can either fish from your yak or get out and wade in most of these areas.

TRIP REPORT:
The skies were partly cloudy, providing some shade during the morning, the winds light, a few rain squalls passed around us. I think we had about 12 participants for this outing. There were quite a few folks out kayak fishing that were not part of the group. The fishing was tough. I got a few reports of trout landed, dink trout caught and released at drum bay, and some undersized reds. Mike McNeff nabbed a 20" trout on a Copper Johnson Sprite. He had a few bumps after that. I lucked out and jumped a 24" red that was holding court in one of the ponds behind the white octagon shaped marsh camp not too far from Ernies. Surprising, no report of flounder on this trip. Glad to see everyone off the water safely. It was fun. Later, Chris
