BLACKS REEF AREA
which includes Little Pasture Cove and Marsh Point Flats on the East Bay side of Boliver Peninsula
April 19, 2008

Trip Description:

According to Authors Chuck Scates and Phil H. Shook in Flyfishing the Texas Coast, Galveston guide Chris Phillips calls the Blacks Reef area, a shoreline that includes Little Pasture Cove and Marsh Point Flats on the East Bay side of the Boliver Penninsula near Rollover Pass, one of the best East Bay spots for taking large trout.

Prime fishing destinations in the Blacks Reef area include Big Pasture Bayou, Sun Oil Lakes and Rollover Pass’s East Bay shoreline. A short run across the Intracoastal Waterway also provides access to prime wade fishing along the East Bay shoreline of Rollover Pass.

The plan is for us to meet at and launch from Lauderdale Public Boat Ramp near Rollover Pass. See the map below for the location of Lauderdale Public Boat Ramp.
