I was waking up today and thumbing through my phone when I saw this video, posted below. Many people think that I have a bilge pump because I fish offshore, but I always say a bilge pump should be on your kayak no matter where you fish. This person flipped in a lake due to a boat wake. If this person would have had a bilge pump, he would've been able to solve his problem. It may take a few minutes to bilge most of the water out, but at least he would've been able to solve his problem. Once a kayak is filled up, it is very difficult to do anything to get the water out through the drain plug. Unless you have an electric bilge pump or a handheld bilge pump, things get difficult. I am sending this video in hopes that many people will consider buying a bilge pump going forward. It is a fantastic safety tool for kayakers and it hardly takes up any space on top or inside of a kayak. I hope this video helps.

PS: Feel free to call me if you have any questions or would like to know more about what kind of bilge pump to buy. Also, if you thumb forward to 1:30 mins on the video, that is where things start to happen.
