Trip Description:

This is a day trip. The white bass run typically begins in February for Harmon Creek. The Texas limit is 25 each day with a minimum length of 10 inches.  If you don't have an ultra light rod and reel set up, no worries bring your lightest rod and reel and you will do fine. Also, if you love to fly fish or even if you are new with using a fly rod, white bass is the best way to get out there and learn. The marina has a stainless cleaning table & public restrooms. It will be cold in the early morning but it should warm up quickly. Check the forecast for info on what clothing/layers to wear. Also, always bring an extra set of clothes. (Speaking from experience hahaha). 

Tackle to use: You can call Ronnie at the marina for advise, as well. Blake steered me toward ROAD RUNNERS to catch white bass. Some with blades and colors white, chaurtruese, orange, chaurtruese, white head have worked for me.  

LAUNCH & TIME 

Harmon Creek Marina & Campground 14 Marina Point, Huntsville, Texas 77320  -----  936-276-1144 - Ronnie is the Facility Manager. Typically fishing up the creek from the campgrounds is best but I will check with Ronnie prior for a scouting report.

8:00 am Launch. The marina has a concrete boat ramp but you can also launch from the bank adjacent to the ramp.

Launch Fee - $8 per day

From The Woodlands, travel time is about an hour. Head North on I-45 and take Hwy 19 exit. You will be traveling toward Riverside, Texas. Your GPS should have no problem with direction. Just be aware, there are multiple turns after you make your first left turn off of Hwy 19.
