Last week I drove down to Surfside and then over to Christmas Bay via the Blue Water Highway. Although I expected to see some damage I was struck by the magnitude of the damage to the highway. In several places the highway has been completely washed out and traffic is routed to the beach, down the beach some distance and then back onto the highway after detouring around the missing section of highway. I talked to one of the local residents who told me the highway has even more damage as one travels further east toward San Louis Pass. Hopefully, the highway will be in better shape when the PACK tournament comes around this year.
It was a beautiful day for paddling but the tailing reds I had hoped to see were no where to be found.

We were down there fishing Christmas Bay a few weeks ago, and was blown away that the road was just......gone. Kind of crazy driving along on the beach and looking back up and seeing chunks of road strewn about.
