Fished Mosses Lake Sunday. The same reef that we have fished for the last 5 weeks. We have caught reds here every time, but last Saturday when I needed to. Fished my new Marsh Rat rod that I won.
I heard a few thing about them, but the light was very nice. We made a few drifts across a reef and hooked up each time, 4 reds in the boat. On the last drift ( had to go eat breakfast for Fathers day) a fish
was on, about a 30 minute fight and chase was on. My partener said she was 40 plus, he tryed to net her 3 times. The net was to small, there was a boat drifting the shore line so we asked if they had a big
net and when I did she went up the boat, broke my line and new rod. The Marsh Rat rod is very nice, very strong back and good action. I will purchase another one for one of my main light action rods.
That is all about I throw. If any one like to fish that area let me know.
Sorry about the new rod. I own several have fought some big reds, drum and jacks and so far (knock on wood) the only one I broke was my own fault when I broke the tip off. Sounds like you like the rod. I prefer the light rod for soft plastics and some small topwaters and the medium light is my topwater rod.
I stopped by last night and talked to Mr. Reed and he told me he took care of you, which was great to hear.
Did you get a chance to see some of the new stuff he is working on? Some of those rods are sweet, so sweet that I decided to have another one built and told him I want it to be unique. Can't wait to see what he comes up with.
Garcia, I have a house in Bacliff that I go to on the weekends. I have been trying to find a spot to fish or perhaps someone to fish with. Could you help a bro out?m Thanks, Kristian.
