What are your fishing superstitions?

I'm gathering a list of fishing superstitions such as "no bananas" on the boat; never buy ice before fishing, wait until after. and so forth. Thought it might be fun to share a the meetings. Add yours to the list......

...always start chewing a piece of gum before I launch. I usually will chew on it for about 1 to 2 hours at that.

I never remove the plastic wrapping from new rods until I catch a fish with it.

Good one. This way you can return it if it doesn't catch fish
