February Meeting Post Mortem

Thanks to Team Ocean Kayak, Sam, Vincent, and Jeff for sharing your knowledge with us. I think we need to have them back for a second, "black diamond" edition. Few of us have had the opportunity to spend the time on the water those guys have, and there's clearly much knowledge there. I heard that they those may be willing to lead us on a trip. I'd really like to explore that further and will be in touch. I've had some requests for a copy of the presentation and will try to work that out.

I think it's becoming obvious that 1.5 hours is not enough time to do everything I'd like to do in the meetings. We are limited to that amount of time by our contract with REI. I feel like I need to give our speakers at least an hour for their presentations. We have such a strong group of speakers that I'd really like to give them as much time as possible.

Since these meetings are for you guys, I'd like some feedback about what we can do about meeting content given our time constraints. I can cut out the fluff, but I want to make sure we cut out the right fluff or replace it with stuff you'd like to hear.
I'd like to do these little meeting evaluations each month to make sure the meetings are informative and interesting enough to keep you coming.

Its really great to see such good attendance at the meetings. I really appreciate everyone's cooperation with keeping the doorway clear for REI's folks and staying in the meeting area. As you would if it were your business, they are sensitive about large numbers of folks in the storeroom. We have a great relationship with REI and want to maintain our partnership with them.
