I saw a used Prism for sale on TKF classified forum yesterday. No photo of the kayak. Fellow just needed to sell it cheap and fast because he's moving up near Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
It doesn't take a lot to get my interest, hehe. So I called the fellow. "How many scupper holes does your Prism have?" I inquired. "It only has TWO scupper holes, but they drain it pretty well," he said. "I'll be right over," says I.
He cautioned me, "This kayak is about 14 feet long, so you'll need to think about how you'll get it home if you decide to buy it." "No problem," says I. "I keep kayak racks on top of my vehicle."
Larry and I piled into the Blazer, and he made the mistake of wanting ME to drive, hehe! So we made the trip in excellent time, with what little bit of hair Larry still has standing straight up and with his fingers curled tightly around the "sissy" bar on the dash. DASH - good word, that!
So we gave the man his money, and he said, "By the way, you can take these things with you, too: a seat, thigh straps, rod holders, and a WOODEN 2-piece paddle."
AWESOME!
Larry sent a note to Capt Jack on TKF to tell him about our find. Jack replied "Great deal - just remember to keep your body centered over that kayak because it has a ROUND bottom."
Hmmmm, maybe a little bit tippy? We'll see. Maybe this will be strictly a hot weather kayak, just in case!
Mrs B - You are not starting another collection of yaks are you?
Good heavens, no!
This is only kayak number 4. Hehe!
