Some of you may remember that a young man drowned in the Galveston area while kayak fishing on July 8. His name was Lloyd Wood.
On TKF, we received a request from his brother Jeff Wood to hold a time of kayak fishing and a BBQ gathering as a memorial to Lloyd and his love for kayak fishing. The date and place have been determined as follows:
San Luis Pass County Park - Marlin Pavilion, Saturday, August 25, 2007
Since our PACK outing to Christmas Bay is scheduled for that date, I was wondering if we could plan on going to the SLP pavilion after fishing to join in the cammeraderie, meal, and to offer our condolences and support to Lloyd's family.
Below is the link to the memorial gathering for Lloyd Wood on the TKF Calendar. In that thread there is a link to the food list (I hope we'd volunteer to bring some food) and also to the thread where the whole idea was formed. On that thread, you'll see several new TKF members: Lloyd's brother Jeff (Jawz529), his sister Shelby, his mother Mary, and a good friend of Lloyd's Mike (kayak72).

What do you guys think about the idea of ending our Christmas Bay outing by going to the pavilion to celebrate Lloyd Wood's life?

Betty,
Sounds good. PACK will swing by after our PACK outing to support the memorial at SLP County Park. Since we will have folks attending the PACK Christmas Bay outing, those who wish to participate may meet up at the park pavilion. I would imagine that most of us will be off the water by noon to 1pm. I will announce this memorial at the next PACK meeting as well as will send out an email to fellow PACK/Guest to announce it. Thanks,
JT
