Fished Lake Conroe last week - 9, 10 and 11 Nov while staying at the Piney Shores Resort. Not much to report other than the Bass were difficult to find with my baits. Only a couple which I released to catch next year when they grow a few more inches. The catfish were plentiful for my sister who fished from the boat docks/marina using worms captured from her garden. Tried to find the Crappies using minnows and small blue/white or pink/white plastic tubes but to no avail. Almost every non fishing boat on the lake buzz by me creating wakes which required me to make some sort of maneuver to prevent turtling. Had a good time on the water all things considered - at one point I tried to cross the lake and played yak submarine in the choppy waters...the water was not greener on the other side of the lake. I did decide to order an new more comfortable seat for my OK Torque so it would be at my door steps when I returned home.

Fishing: Fayette County Lake the 17, 18 and 19 Nov to attempt to boost my confidence after my last experience in Oct. My injury has healed but pride still needs some catching encouragement. Since I am not accustom to failure - I decided a return trip was in order...this time I will get some hooks wet and play with the bass there. I booked a shelter for two nights - will shift to a cabin if it gets too cold. Taking a small efficient space heater for spouse and sister.

If anyone in PACK wants to hook up to fish any of those days please let me know. My kayak friends are always welcome to fish with me...just give me a call. Since retiring my goal has been to fish a minimum of 2-3 days a week. Saltwater has always been my favorite fishing environment but places like Fayette County Lake will draw you to the freshwater for a BASS fix?! Bass are fun to target and crappies are extremely tasty....!
