This morning I fished the north shoreline of Trinity Bay. There was virtually no wind and the water clarity was great. The bay was flat all morning. I saw very little surface activity and did not see any birds working bait at the surface. There was a massive outgoing tide. Fishing with a friend, only one fish was caught and that was a 16 inch trout caught on a bone super spook jr. eary in the morning.
My hunch is that the strong outgoing tide worked to our disadvantage given our location.

At around sun up and for a few hours thereafter I noticed a good number of boats running to the upper end of Trinity Bay-possibly to Jack's Pocket or the spillway area. Possibly they had more luck up that way.

Nevertheless, the sunup was spectacular and the weather great making for a great morning on the water.

Hello Jim R,

Thanks for the fishing report. Great read...it truly was a nice day to be kayaking and fishing. My catching has been in the dumps lately but is another story...I am a little jealous because I got plowed under by Christmas shopping with wife. Seems that my priorities need to be 'reeled' in. A person should fish on nice days and shop for stuff on windy/nasty days. Don't you just hate to be the only fisherman in BPS or Academy on a clear calm day; I know I do. Some tourist is always lurking to see what lures you are putting in your basket.

Haven't been out on the water for 10 days now and it is killing me now that I am healed up after my little fall. I normally fish at least once a week at the minimum so you can imagine how hard it is to control my anxiety. Now that I fish mostly from my kayak; it only get harder to be on the wagon or in between trips. My wife thinks I need to see a shrink to control this addiction. That is like one alcoholic telling another alcoholic not to drink a beer. Even on blank days it is great to be out on the water - Go fish?!!

Let me know if you guys want extra company. Just about always ready to head out to get a fix. I just might be the only PACK member who hasn't caught a fish on my bone super spook jr...?
