The PACK Armada fished Cedar Lakes / Intracoastal / San Bernard River this past weekend. The winds calmed, the waters greened and the fish bit. The light winds were a pleasant change from what we experienced in Shoalwater a couple weeks back. The sun was very hot without a breeze. After crossing the Intracoastal we made our way to the south shoreline of Cedar Lakes to hunt for reds. All hands reported seeing tailing Reds. Reds / Trout / Flounder were landed. Trout were caught at the mouth of Cedar Lakes / Intracoastal. I like it when you set the hook and your drag squeals. At the mouth of Cedar Lakes we witnessed a 7 lb trout caught via a PB. Wildlife was present, a hog was spotted, sea turtles were seen, and the birdlife was ever present. The Cedar Lakes shallow water oyster beds added a few more scratches / scares on the bottom of our yaks. All had a good time; it was a great day on the water. (photos posted)

We had a great time. Adam and I rented a Commander 140 and headed out together for our first fishing kayak adventure. We saw a lot of action early in the canal towards the big lake areas of Ceder Lakes, which was a cool sight to see for my son. He had never seen reds chasing bait out of the water like that before. Thanks Ken for leading this trip.
