As I was planning the trip to Ft. Anahuac I saw the there was a cold front moving in on Friday the day before the trip. As the trip leader I knew Ft. Anahuac was not the place to be right after a cold front with high winds because there would any cover from a north wind. So I moved the trip to Sunday.

On Sunday the weather was prefect, cool with light winds and patchy clouds, but the fishing reports were all over the place. The water was too fresh from the rains and the north wind blowing the fish out. Russell was able to catch two Reds around the Islands in front around noon time and I caught one slot Red in a cut east on the mouth of the river.

I enjoyed the trip, the weather was cool, everyone caught fish, and I saw a Bald Eagle and two Osprey. Michael Emshoff
