Trip Description:

January has arrived, and with it comes one of the most exciting events of the fishing season – the white bass run in Texas! Anglers are gearing up for prime fishing opportunities as white bass make their way upstream to spawn.  There’s no better time to get out on the water and experience the thrill of the run.

White bass are one of the most popular freshwater species in Texas, and for good reason. They put up a great fight, and their delicious meat makes them a favorite catch for anglers. Every spring, when the water is 55 to 65 degrees, these fish migrate upstream from reservoirs into rivers and creeks to spawn, creating the perfect window for anglers to get in on the action. Large female white bass start moving upstream as early as mid-January.

Trip Description:  The white bass run starts around this time of year at the Angelina River north of Lufkin and the limit is 25 each day 10 inch minimum.

LAUNCH TIME: : Is at 7:00 am so be sure you get there early enough to start  prepping your kayak and gear.  You will want to possibly bring your kayak wheels.  If you want to arrive the day or night before, there is a reasonably priced motel we have stayed at before. It’s just a few miles north of Lufkin and  few miles from the turn off towards the launch spot. 59 TEXAS INN, 4350 US 59, Lufkin TX 75901.

How to Sign Up: If you want to go, login, and click the "ENROLL" tab to automatically have your name added to the list.

How to Get There: Once everyone has sign up, I will send a pin to your phone for the launch location.  Phone reception is sketchy out where we will be fishing so be sure to place the pin in your phone with directions to get there before you get close to the launch location.  I recommend doing this while you are still on Hwy 59 before you turn onto the back roads.

Recommended guidelines for participates:
