more Summer time REDS...8/30/08

Summer time Tip...if reds are sluggish/skiddish on the top water bite due to hot conditions and skinny water....then try slowing down your retrieve and minimize the "walk the dog" action on the lure.  Another tip is to choose a lure that has minimal rattles such a Heddon Spit-n-Image topwater or the Mann's Waker lure that dives only 1 to 3 inches below the surface(see pic of lures below).  30 Reds caught and they ranged from 18" to 28".
