Heads up to all thinking of joining me at Fayette County Lake. I've reserved one of the efficiency cabins at Oak Thicket Park at the lake for Friday and Sat nites on Feb 26 and 27. This is just ahead of the full moon on Feb 28, which normally signals the peak of the bass spawn on this lake. There are 6 screened shelter sites avail that weekend for campers at $33 per night, and there are primitive camp sites for $16 per night. Anyone who wants to have a roof over their head, I'd suggest you call for a reservation asap. The phone number for reservations is 512-389-8900, be sure to reserve at Oak Thicket Park at Fayette County Lake. There is another park, Park Prairre which has primitive camp sites. Bob Green is an excellent guide for anyone considering hiring a guide for the trip. He does half day trips for 1-2 people for $200.00. Good way to learn the tricks of this lake and probably catch a big bass. I will do a complete trip plan as soon as I can. This trip can be an optional campout or day trip. No problem driving up for the day, or should be good cold weather camping. This is an excellent facility, very clean, well run camp ground.
