White Bass Fishing on the upper Sabine River (N. Toledo Bend)

This is not a PACK trip, it is organized by the the: Southeast Texas Kayak and Canoe Group in Beaumont. All the available information is below. The contact information is below. March 6 through 8 is our annual white bass paddling trip...largely on the upper Sabine River. We are going at the beginning of the week to avoid the weekend white bass crowds.

This trip is a largely a fishing trip and is recommended for experienced paddlers only. The upper Sabine is subject to quick swings in water levels and temperature at this time of year. We usually catch a large number of fish, but you may have to face some quick-changing river conditions. The river is currently low…it is not possible to know the river conditions until a few days prior to the trip…which may change our paddling approach.
This year we plan to again stay on upper Toledo Bend.

We will fish the best areas of the river depending on the conditions at the time.
