Joined fellow PACKers this morning. The light winds were a pleasant change from what we experienced in Shoalwater. After crossing the Intracoastal made my way to the south shoreline of of Cedar Lakes to hunt for reds. As I approach the shoreline I can see an animal in the grass with its head down. As I get closer I can hear him snorting and rooting and determine its a hog. Was able to get pretty close and take some photos including a "tailing" escape shot. It took me about 3 more hours to finally find a single pod of tailing reds and fortunately one of them cooperated. Lots of redwinged blackbirds along the shoreline and they let me take their pictures, too. Caught an undersized red and an undersized trout while crossing the Intracoastal on the way in. Felt like it was a great day on the water , one I'll always remember, even though the fishing was slow. (photos posted)
