All just wanted to throw this out there and see of interest and will discuss more at the meeting next week if time allows. I know many of the Pack trips head to South Texas so I figured what the hell maybe head East into Louisiana. Since I wanted to keep the trip within a somewhat short driving distance figured maybe Lake Charles/Lake Calcasieu would be a good option as I know they catch lots of good fish out of this area. So I dug around and talked to some folks at the Lafayette Kayak Fishing Club as they hold a tournament here and other events. They would be more than willing to share launch info, etc and would actually like to join in on the fun if we can arrange something. Was thinking something perhaps in April maybe but would leave this to the Pack group to decide on.
I am by no means a great kayak fisherman as I keep wanting to make more events but things just don't work out that way and have pledged to make more this year. In regards to the Lake Calcasieu trip if agreeable and can get something set up I would be more than happy to be the trip leader even though I wouldn't have a clue (hehe).
Well again just tossing the idea around and will discuss more at the upcoming meeting next week if ok.

I went over there this past September with the Texas Lady Anglers. We all stayed at Spicer-Hughes Marina. They have a nice boat launch and plenty of room for parking. Fish cleaning station too! And an ice machine! They were very accomodating for our large group. Why wait? Let's go now!.....
