April 18, 2017 Meeting

We had a very active group for the April meeting. Bruce Berhens described in detail his "Live Catch" system for transporting redfish to a tournament weigh-in, keeping them alive and ready to release in order to earn maximum points. Brad Valtierra showcased the tournament style jerseys for our members to order and wear on events and tournaments. [ See Attached Photos ]

Our speaker, Glenn "Prof. Salt" Madden of Corpus Christi made the trip over to bring his bluewater kayak fishing experience. He brought his latest kayak, complete with insulated catch storage, live-action cameras, rod holders, fish finder and most of all how to handle everything from King Mackerel, Jacks, Cobia and Sharks. The bat was to "convince" the cobia to settle down. The questions were intense, but he answered them all. Next trips up, Goose Island and Matagorda Island, both coming up pretty soon and a Beyond the Breakers event June 11. See you at the next meeting! Chris
