Its really great to have the complete list of locations and dates of past outings to work from. Some interesting things stood out. I noticed that Matagorda Island has been a regular May event. Its always been a great destination and hope we go this year. I'd like to throw in a thought to consider Aransas Pass for that month also. In my experience, the red fish seem to turn on about the time that the last cold fronts come across the coast. The middle part of May seems to be the time when that occurs in that area. One advantage to Aransas Pass is that there are multiple launch spots that can be selected based on weather or wind, without traveling significant distances from plan A. The negative to AP is that unless we stay in a rental property, the only camping options are Goose Island or Mustang Island SP. Of course there are many inexpensive hotel rooms in the area as well. Matagorda provides some great fishing spots also, but we have the handicap of requiring transport to the island. I'd like to throw in a vote for the South Llano River again. In addition to the stretch of water that we fished this year, there are some other options further downstream on the Llano River and on the river near Castel, TX. Gus B and I scouted that area and found some interesting accommodations available for that section of the river as well as other public access to the river. And finally, another pitch for some bass fishing. I know that many of us haven't spent much time yakking on the lakes, but there are lots of venues that have potential for camping or day trip outings. Lake Conroe, Sommerville, Fayette County, Gibbons Creek, Coleto Creek, Sam Rayburn, Choke Canyon, and others have fine camping facilities and good fishing for those interested in washing the salt out of their yaks. The Hill Country offers some other great spots, Lake Bastrop, Lake Austin, Lake Travis, Georgetown Lake, and others have excellent facilities and offer reasonable driving distances. I second the votes for Shoalwater, Panther, Powderhorn, anywhere near Port O'Conner, Shell Bar, any part of the Matagorda complex, Its a little difficult for me to predict far in advance which trip I can lead, but will take on at least one trip this year. Hopefully, with our growth in membership, we'll have some other folks step up and lead trips to their favorite spots.

I agree with the Matagorda, Palacious, POC, PA areas for this year. The LLano River was a great scenic trip. I would do it again but prefer to see another scenic river if someone knows of one.  Chinquapin  is on the trip  calendar. Where is it ? Who has fished it?  Anyone with an opinion about it? Would like to see some new places to explorer.

12 day trips within an early morning's drive  from Houston may need to be stretched to overnighters along with the monthly weekend outings at least for the first part of the year. Need some ideas.
