Looking through the pictures in the Catch of the Month section of the magazine when I noticed Bruce and Brads picture posted. Way to go guys.....nice trouts.
We did get to go out for a 1/2 day trip with Dean on April 22. There was 4 of us on this trip that almost got cancelled due to the windy conditions. One of the guys in the group was from New Mexico on vacation that wanted to saltwater fish in the AP area. I did not want to spoil his chances to get to fish this great area so we decided to fish the boat channel around B&R flats that gave us the best protection from the wind. We caught a lot of small trout, a nice flounder and about four keeper trout for our visitor from the desert to take home for dinner back at his camp. I used a DOA shrimp all day that was so torn up that I needed to retire it the Hall of Fame of Lures bin. I am looking forward to going back to AP some time this summer for a three day get-away again like we did last year. I have looked at going in August 2-4 for the Back to School trip before school starts back up and I get back to the grind of running my kayak hauler (my truck) to a schoolbus for the kids.
