I've been getting tons of great feedback from our members with suggestions and ideas to make PACK an even better club. One idea that I'd like to get going by the January meeting is to have some PACK greeters to help direct visitors to our meeting room at REI and to welcome them to the meeting.

I think it would be nice to shake visitors hands, welcome them to the meeting, get a little personal information from them and ask their interest in PACK. The greeter could then introduce the visitor at the start of the meeting. Just a little twist on what we do now, maybe take our welcome up a notch and make sure the visitor at least has someone to connect with at the meeting. If any of you would like to be a part of this process or can think of other ways we can welcome visitors and new members, please speak up.
One way of doing this would be to have a sign-in table at the door so that we could be sure not to miss anyone... maybe issue name tags,,, give them a free raffle ticket to door prizes, hand them a membership application, give them a follow up email or call and encourage them to sign up for an outing..whatever... lots of ways to get new members and visitors enthused... use your imagination... there are no bad ideas...

This isn't exactly a repsonse to Oleyakker's request, but seems like a good place to post this. I was a member of PACK a few years ago until I moved to Scotland. We're now heading back to Houston, so I look forward to hooking back up with PACK. I only went on a couple of outings and attended a few meetings, but I hope to be more active when I return. I look forward especially to the Shoalwater Bay paddle in. I remember advice from Buzz that got me hooked up into some amazing action for reds on topwaters.

Anyway, hopefully I'll see you PACK'ers soon and rejoin the club and help out as much as I can.

Cheers,
TC

TC, welcome back. It's going to be a great year. (It's been pretty awesome while you were gone). Just contact anyone on the board to help out. We'll have about 6 committees to participate in. Chris

TC look forward to seeing you at future PACK meetings... Can't wait to chat with you about Scotland. I've had the good fortune to partake of a wee dram and enjoy hearing of others adventures there. Glad you remembered PACK and Buzz can still put you on the fish...
