So looking to possibly make the Panther Point trip but it still is up in the air.

I see the packing list on the Helpful stuff link but can someone who has done the trip before perhaps give a better idea as to what is really needed for the trip. I know I would have to get a Tent, etc but trying to get a better grasp on the other items or actual necessities (nene). I have Radio, and all the kayaking stuff just not a lot of camping stuff or portable mother nature calling items (hehe)

Any info appreciated

Hello Mr. B,

We're taking the Skimmer out to Panther Point and usually he is able to get within 20-30 yds of the shell bar. We can unload our gear and walk it or load it onto the kayaks to take to the camping site. Most folks take their tent and camping equipment in duffel bags and then a small to medium sized ice chest for food. The kayak gear is also combined into bags or milk crates. Below is a list of items from my checklist and I'm sure others can weigh in on other specific items they carry.

Kayak and fishing stuff
Marine radio (if you've got one)
Waders and boots (optional)

Tent (don't forget your tent poles like I did one time!)
Ground cover to protect the tent bottom since the camp site is shell
Extra long tent stakes, extra tent cord and plastic sacks (fill with shell) for tent tiedown
Camp shoes and camp clothes
Sleeping pad
Pillow (optional)
Bed cover (light sleeping bag, sheet, etc)
Camp chair
Headlamp or small flashlight

Water containers
Toilet paper and small trowel (most folks can take care of business away from the camp)
Easy to prepare food
Camp stove and fuel
Cooking utensils (pot, fork, etc)
Bug spray, sunscreen, antibacterial spray, medicine
Extra clothes
Raincoat
