Hello all,

Figured I'd drop in a line and say hi. I'm a fairly new Kayaker(and wanting to be more of a Kayak Fisherman). Living in the Pearland area.

I've had a Predator 13 for about a year, but with work and life it has been hard to get out much. The wife has a Moken 12.5 as well. Both pretty good rides.

I have been lake and river fishing up in Oklahoma, but have not been out in the Gulf yet(at least not to Fish, I completed the Kemah Olympic Triathlon in April lol). I'd really like to see if there are any groups that get together to get some slime in their boats!

So far my Yak is pretty naked, but I am working on it . Mods are as follows:
Anchor trolley- starboard, full length
5 Lb anchor- 50 ft of floating line
Line Cleat on the Starboard side, just beneath outer edge of the rim(so it is out of the way
single rail tracks- just behind seat on left and right(on the "canted" surface"
crate- building it up slowly lol
visipole- will install on the port aft plate
Rudder Kit- Haven't installed it yet, just got it this weekend
also have a Scotty rod holder to put on the tracks(can switch sides) but just use it for water transport cause i don't trust it to troll

The wife's yak is completely stock so far. She likes to go with and sun bathe the few times we have gotten the yaks out haha.

I haven't gotten any Salt water rods or tackle yet, will be doing that soon. I am thinking of getting that Mystery Tackle Box Subscription to get some good variety(will be buying from local shops too).

Anyway, yeah. That's where I am at lol. Hoping everyone is coping with the harsh weather. Hit me up if you don't mind mentoring a newb lol.

Thanks!

Aaron

I'm not the welcome committee but will say hello. I am a new guy as well. I have read about the PACK meetings, speakers and fishing trips over on Texas Kayak Fisherman. I look forward to participating and learning from the group. I have a Ride 135 (lefthanded model) not a lot of mods yet as I am still trying to figure out the bear essentials for me.

Anyway, Welcome!

Welcome to the both of you. We love to mentor and tell stories and help out where needed. Please come to one of our meetings and our trips. The best way to learn is on the water. We have lots of members who have lots of experience on the water and kayak setup. You guys do not have to be a member to go on a trip just click the enroll button to go. We will meet you there and hopefully answer all your questions.

We look forward to meeting you.

Thanks,
