Looking for a course or school for rod and reel repair for my son.
would appreciate your suggestions.
I have never heard of a school or even classes being offered. Best bet is get hold of some schematics and take a couple of reels apart. You can get rod building books, videos and kits on line or books at FTU or Academy.

There's definitely a high demand for those skills. Went by Cut Rate yesterday to have my Stradic 4000 repaired, and they were running 7 weeks behind! I was told I'd be better off sending to Shimano. They had a Help Wanted sign on the fron door as I entered.
Anyone know of a good local repair person?
