The early Friday forecast for tomorrow is looking a little wet. 50-60% chance of precipitation early, and improving slightly as the day progresses. The temperatures will be comfortable, but the chance of thunderstorms is pretty good. This sort of forecast doesn't usually cancel a trip. Those of us who are determined to go on our opportunities to go, will show up at the site and take our chances with the weather. Raingear is definitely in order. We will use good judgement about being on the water with lightning in the area and will not launch with thunderstorms in the area. There is very little shelter at the launch site so prolonged rain delays will be in the vehicles. A small covered picnic table is available, but will not accommodate very many people. I will check the forecast later today and post another update late this afternoon. Anyone who wants to chat about the trip, feel free to give me a call. 281-687-1480. Leave a message if I don't answer, I'll get back to you.
The tides for tomorrow are a good high tide in the early morning and a steady falling tide all day. The prime feeding time is going to be early am. Our friendly rating service calls tomorrow a 6 out of 10 day. As of now, I still plan to go...will make final decision by 6PM today. If any of you are definitely going to cancel, I'd appreciate a call so I don't look for you on Saturday.
