While everyone else was at Panther Point, I made a lonely return trip to Salt Lake today. Once again the gate was open early, so I was on the water by 6:30. No luck with the redfish early this trip, but the trout were very active, but small. Caught em on every bait I threw, topwaters, corky's, spoons, and jigs. Chased the birds around until about 11am and managed 4 keepers. Decided to paddle to the big back lake at the end of the bayou to the right of the launch. It was a one hour paddle to get to the back, had a pod of reds swim by the yak, but could not entice any strikes on topwaters or spinnerbaits, or spoons. Gave up and came in about 1:30. It was a beautiful morning, and all I could think of was how many fish the guys were catching at Panther.

Adrian and I were at Aransas Pass Saturday teaching water safety.  Like you we were wondering how the guys were doing at Panther Point.  I started getting phone calls Sunday afternoon.  They reported that hundreds of fish were caught.  Weather was perfect.  Panther Point lived up to everyones expectations.
