Ron & I accepted a long-standing invitation to fish the marsh north of Keith Lake. Tied on a new (first ever) Flounder Pounder purchased from Phil at last week's meeting. First cast at kayak launch waiting for our hosts to put in. BAM 17" Speck in the boat! Ron's catching trout on a topwater bait. But trout in Fish Pass was not on the game plan. It was a case of "Two in the Bush were to prove better than a Bird (speck) in the Hand". So off we paddle to some unnamed lake north of Keith Lake. "Throw right here Chris" my host says, "We were chasing torpedo wakes last weekend" BAM, red on! Flounder Pounder strikes again. Ron and our hosts are catching simular size reds on a variety of lures. No flounder boated but one chased my lure to the boat and a second spit the lure while looking me in the eye. Hooked 3 more reds, let the rest go. 8 miles paddled all together on the nicest day I seen on the water since I can remember. 4 hours driving round trip - worth the while. Chris
