Chris B and I hit the Stingaree marsh last thursday afternoon. The weather was cooperative but the fish were not. We scratched out three rat reds to show for our 4.5 hours of searching. There was a strong incoming tide all afternoon, the water was in good shape, but the sun never came out as advertised. We paddled over and spooked several fish in the bayous but didn't hook up. My catches were on a white gulp suspended under a small cork, and Chris was using his favorite "chicken colored" paddle tail. He'll have to share the exact model, but it was similar to electric chicken.
We didn't see any other kayakers but there was a number of power boats at the launch.. the guides were catching fish, but not us mortals.
See you all at Anahuac in a couple weeks.
