It was a peaceful weekend at Smith Point, virtually mosquito-free, clear skies, low humitiy, and best of all great company. A handful of participants enjoyed the scenery and abundandant birdlife. The highlight of the trip was the Oysters-Corbett which everyone contributed to the grilling and preparation of Smith Point's finest export. One gafftop met a an unfortunate end and a bunch of other catfish were nursing sore mouths before we left. All other finfish remained safe and undisturbed. Chris

I second the enjoyable weekend shared among PACK members. Although wind and clarity of water were not perfect for the bite; it allowed for sharing of information and ideas on fishing. We didn't solve all of the worlds problems, nor were we able to tire out pup "Tucker". Who is also known for his notorious escapes from locked campers and his huge collection of burrs and/or stickers. More than one PACK member had to retire early with an extreme case of fetch elbow.

I managed a short dip in the water but my time spent swimming was short lived by Greg's demand that I return to the boat. Upon assuring Greg that it was just right for fishing he plucked me from the water. Bummer?! Strange that after my swim; I never got bitten by mosquitoes. My friend "Mosquito" Greg got buzzed constantly while we were out fishing on one of the many islands. The mosquitoes must have been attempting to get even for their lost suburban buddies. On the way back from the island approximately 3 hours later...Greg wasn't able to accelerate fast enough in his "jelly boat" to give me whiplash (as promised); but he was able to manage constant bow spray, thus providing an unexpected shower. I guess I shouldn't have found humor in the attacking mosquitoes earlier that day?! Anyway some PACK members decided to go sea shell hunting...which I thought was very odd for a bunch of mature men. I managed to find a few pretty shells which were immediately rejected and discorded. Later I discovered that we were going to cook Oysters in them. Let me go on record to say that the cooked oysters were the finest I have ever eaten. Everyone pitched in and had a great time. Chris worked tirelessly keeping everyone engaged and focused on what PACK is all about. As a trip leader he sets extremely high standards for all to emulate. Joel is a casting champion in my book. Hopefully, he will give me lessons on his unique technique and especially his lost and found skills. Enough said. Thanks to those who shared their friendship and participated in this event.
