Fifteen stalwart PACK members got ferried to the Matagorda Island camp sight on Friday morning. The weather was beautiful, the water was clear, and the wind was moderate. It appeared as if my prior warning about bad weather following PACK camp outs was to be proven false.

We set up camp and most of us sat around shooting the bull, and enjoying the scenery and cool breeze. I never even wet a line, thinking I would wake up early Sat. morning and get it on with the fish, bringing a couple back for Sat. nights fish fry.
Dawn on Sat. morning brought sunny skies, cool temps, and...................WIND!

We had a steady 25k 'breeze' with 35k gusts all day. The water got milky and It was hard to go, with ease, where I wanted to fish.
Among the 15 guys and gals, there were enough fish for the fish fry, but I did not contribute one iota to the event. Tried all of my favorite spots and used every trick I knew to tempt a fish onto my line, with nothing but abject failure as my reward. First time in a long time that I was completely skunked.

It was, however, fantastic being on the water (in spite of the many discourteous power boaters in the area) and the camaraderie among the group was, as is usual, most enjoyable. I had a great time. Buzz
