Seems like perfect weather for PACK but for kayaking and picking up trash its not so good. Safety is Number 1 so the winds and weather will probably preclude us from launching kayaks (but you can bring them anyway). You can check-in at Reitan Point or come straight to the Campbell Bayou Check-in Point. See map below. After the bash we will retire to Dick's Place and have a cold one.
To get to kayak check-in point from Retain Point.
Keep going south on the feeder road (do not get on 45S), take the turn-around under the bridge and head north, again, stay on the feeder road.
The road curves around onto Hwy 3 for a short time, then its Loop 197.
Take the first right after the railroad tracks into the Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority (Campbell Bayou Rd).
Check-in spot will be at the end of the road – where you will be given further instructions. |
