Looking for something a little different to do this weekend?  Like hummingbirds?  Venture down to Lake Jackson for the Xtreme Hummingbird Xtravaganza.  The XHX is a yearly event at Gulf Coast Bird Observatory (GCBO) that takes place during the peak of Ruby-throated Hummingbird migration in the fall. It features symbolic hummingbird adoptions and  live hummingbird banding where you get the opportunity to see these amazing birds up close and in the hand!

Something you can take your kids, grandkids, or special needs adults.  There will be informative and entertaining talks held both days, the chance to win one of three hummingbird-themed items in a special raffle, activities for the kids, live animals at nature booths, a hummingbird & butterfly plant sale.
