Christmas Bay Trip Report, August 25, 2007

The skies were partly cloudy, providing some shade during the morning, the winds light, a few rain squalls passed around us. I think we had about 12 participants for this outing. There were quite a few folks out kayak fishing that were not part of the group. The fishing was tough. I got a few reports of trout landed, dink trout caught and released at drum bay, and some undersized reds. Mike McNeff nabbed a 20" trout on a Copper Johnson Sprite. He had a few bumps after that. I lucked out and jumped a 24" red that was holding court in one of the ponds behind the white octagon shaped marsh camp not too far from Ernies. Surprising, no report of flounder on this trip. Glad to see everyone off the water safely. It was fun.
