I spoke to the welcome center at PINS today and the pass is still open. High water all the way to the dunes is to be expected during high tide. High tide is Friday around midnight. There is no high tide on Saturday. Some people will be staying on the bay side of Yarborough Pass on Friday night. The rest of us will be meeting at the welcome center at PINS Saturday morning at 4:30 am. We will all caravan to the pass, therefore, we can help each other if anyone gets stuck going through the pass once we arrive. (You may want to take a few minutes to print up a map of PINS so you will know your way around.)
Be sure to bring things such as traction boards (if you have them), heavy duty tow straps, shovel, bucket, etc.. to help if anyone gets stuck. Also, once you arrive on the beach line, there is no cellular service. Right when you arrive at the PINS entrance the service is sketchy at best.
If you need to reach me, call me before you arrive to PINS.
