Mothership to the marsh

* All tips and the $5 kayak launch fees are the individual responsibility of the PACK Members attending.

Go to Google Earth and Google Maps to check out the area.  Note, it is more water than marsh. It easy to get confused on your location and the outgoing tide is very strong.  Strongly urge you do not venture out there alone without telling someone your general direction, a working VHF radio, a working GPS, a flag, and a good anchor.

Afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms are very common in the summer in South Louisiana. Foul weather gear, extra water + snacks, and a headlamp are encouraged.

Must have a Louisiana Fishing License. The 2020-2021 Fishing License ENDS June 30, 2021.  So get your new license after July 1st.  All the rules are here: https://la-web.s3licensing.com/Home  or stop at Capt Allens: 4325 LA-56, Houma, LA 70363 on the way down to PAC.

As this event fills up and you want to be down there at the same time and utililze the Mothership services, please go to http://packayakrental.com/reservations/    Scroll down the services, past the kayaks to see what is available for accommodations or use VRBO or AirBnB for rentals in Chauvin & Montegut Louisiana. Those are the nearest little towns. Houma is good to check too.

Groceries:  Cannata's at 1977 Prospect Blvd, Houma, LA 70363 is good.
