Bob and I went to the Kayak Series Tournament in Rockport this past weekend.

We prefished on Friday and then went to the weigh-in of the powerboat guys.  It was a live weigh-in so on Friday we tested if we could bring a live redfish to tournament meeting.  Bob caught a 25 inch red and we made it to the weigh-in with him still alive.

Sunday was the tournament and the wind was ready.  22mph gusting to 40 or so.   That was nothing for us.  We has fished in Rockport last year from the PACK trip in Goose Island.  So we went to our spot we fished on the last day when the wind was really Howling.  We put in at Palm Harbor with I think 7 other tournament contestants.  There were 80 kayakers fishing that day.

I caught a 19" red within 15 minutes of launching.  I stayed on my bank and proceeded to catch nothing else.
I then met back up with Bob who had caught 3 keeper reds and released the 2 smaller ones. (rules are that you cannot have more than 1 fish on your stringer.  You can cull but not have 2 on there at one time)

I caught 4 reds (rats) in that area and bob caught a bunch more but none were bigger than the one he had.

At the end of the day Bob had his 23.75" red and we loaded up and headed to the weigh-in.

The RED, Bob and I arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule.....

After all the fish were in.... Bob's fish was 9th Place.... YEAH BOB.... His Team Partner (Nada)   9th was just out of the money.  8th place received 100.00

BUT WAIT we found another PACK Member and he had  big RED, Robbie  got 4th place and I think 600.00.   He also won 3 place in the Team division and got 100.00  I am sorry but cannot remember his partners name.  Robbie fished Shoalwater for his red.  YOU DA MAN...

Nice Job  Robbie and Bob

Brad...

( I will get them next time)
