I made trip to the Texas Bayou marsh adjacent to Sabine Pass Saturday 8/22. The bayou and Mud Lake are well affected by tides. The outgoing and incoming tides were clearly evident. I met up 2 guys from Beaumont that work the TX Bayou pretty heavy. The catching was light, one legal red, three flounder and few smallish trout were boated, along a lot of 10" croaker. This area probably produces more in the fall. I can the croakers growing to keeper size in a few months. The town of Sabine Pass is heavily damaged by Rita & Ike. No stores, but I did find an RV park. One bait shop was re-opening that day. I'll bring a map at the next meeting. Chris
