Fellow PACK members: I'm announcing my candidacy for PACK President for next year. As I don't consider myself particularly qualified for the job nor particularly experienced at this sort of thing, I'm asking you all for some help. I really think our club is in excellent shape. We have a great membership, some really active long-time members, and a steady addition of new blood. The quality of our website contributes greatly to the health and growth of the club as does the leadership of the core group of veteran members who for years have stepped up and performed many of the sometimes thankless tasks necessary to keep our club strong.

What I'm looking for from all of you are ideas to help make the club even better. How can we make the meetings more entertaining and interesting. What topics would you like to see addressed at meetings. How can we encourage and involve new members in the business of operating the club. How can we make visitors to meetings and events feel even more welcome. How can we assure our future financial health and fund the club. Most importantly, how can we catch more fish and have more fun doing it.

If any of you have ideas you'd like to share with the group, please post a reply. If you'd like to keep something confidential, send me an email at wrromeis@gmail.com. If any of you'd like to volunteer your time and skills to the club in some particular way, please let me know.

If I'm successful in my candidacy, I'll plan to call on several of you to fill committee Chairs or to serve in some capacity to help keep PACK going strong. If you have some desire to get involved with the events, the finances, the promotion, or any other aspect of the clubs activities, give me a shout.

I really believe that the more of us that are actively involved the better the club will be, we'll all get more out of the club, and the club will continue to prosper.

I should add that we've been really lucky to have a guy like Adrian Ramos who has led the club for three consecutive years. He contributed many hours to the club during that time and we owe him our sincere thanks. He will leave big shoes to fill, though I fully expect we'll still have Adrian's contribution to the club to be strong and hopefully keep up his outstanding work with the tournament.
