Yesterday was spent fishing San Antonio Bay in the Matagorda Island area. The water was in great shape, winds were lignt in the morning but increased in the afternoon and there was some current movement. Several Pods of tailing Reds were seen in the morning. As the day progressed most of the visible reds were seen as cruising singles or in smaller groups of 2-3. I was impressed with the size of the reds-most were over twenty inches. Beautiful weather-Jim R

But how many did you catch and what did you catch them on?

I landed 4 nice reds and had 2 more break off after they were hooked. All fish caught sight casting on unweighted flies-one a spoon fly of sorts. My fishing buddy landed at least 8 or so. The day before I arrived, my buddy landed 10 in 4 hours. By the same token, I also missed a good number of what should have been easy shots.
