I'm planning to start the Shoalwater trip a day early. I will be leaving KW early am Thursday and hope to be at Charlie's by 9am. Anyone interested in coming along would be welcome. My intrepid guide from last year, who will remain nameless, Buzz, can't make the thursday departure this year. I guess I will have to navigate to the correct camping spot alone. The weatherman could change my plan, but barring really bad winds thursday am, I'm committed to this plan.

depends where you start.. for me from Kingwood a solid three hours or so.... if you want to come with me... we need to talk wed, afternoon. Depending on the wind forecast for thursday, I may want to leave Charlie's earlier than 9am.. I will hit Charlies by daybreak, so I can load the yak, and be paddling before the wind picks up... Paul Danna, a newbie, is talking about coming thursday also... you guys are going to have a tough time putting up with me....since you will be peddling... your route to camp may be slightly different from the Paddlers...you wlll have to stay in deeper water... I will be paddling some shoreline looking for fish... but will have my flag on my yak so you can always see me...Make sure you bring your VHF radio...if you don't have one... buy one... call me to discuss...

I am not going. I just landed a new job and I would hate to ask a day off.
