I rely on my brother for all of my reel maintnence but look forward to learning. Is the intent of Tuesday's meeting to do some reel cleaning of our own and if so, what are the typical tools needed?Aaron

We are not going to actually clean our own reels. I really wanted to do that but Warren thought that doing a free for all question and answer session would provide more info than cleaning our reels. I will have a camera on warren who will show us the keys to cleaning.

If you have a reel that is giving you trouble bring it and Warren can give you info on what might be wrong with it and how to keep it running in top shape. I took a picture of my reel and will ask what went wrong. I will bring a schematic diagram that we can refer to as needed.

Thanks for the info. I was unsure whether it was a sit and listen type thing or if we would be set up cleaning our own stuff with the help of the pros.

Aw shucks, I was wanting to learn proper way to disassemble, clean, oil, and reassemble with no more than two left over parts.

We can have Warren start by taking apart a reel and explainining the steps to disassemble, clean, oil, lube and put back together.. I will also provide a reel schematic so he can mark the parts to oil, lube, and any special ways to clean the parts.
