Texas Bayou is a kayak fishing mecca. It’s a tricky operation to launch a motorboat. There are only two spots to slide in a kayak. So, the fishing pressure is minimal.

Over the years my buddy Bill and his son have patterned where the fish be found. New member Daniel threw topwaters and caught a number of trout, one a keeper. Connor Woods strung a Redfish, Ryan Woods caught some undersized fish as they explored the area for the first time.

Bill, as usual, put some nice fish in the boat, a mixed bag of six solid fish. I put four nice fish in the box. Water was clear and salty. We had a respectable outgoing tide all day.

We hit Keith Lake on Sunday. Russell Moses joined Connor, Ryan and me. Water was more fresh. No discernible tide movement. Ryan found the Redfish on a back bay plus a 15” Sheepshead on VuDu Shrimp. Russel kept one red. The lake was nice. It would have been more productive if the tides can flush out the fresh. Let’s go back!!
