"March 1st & 2nd brings our annual white bass kayak trip on the upper Sabine River. Camp on a sandbar on the Sabine River to the north of Carthage, Texas. Private property and hardwood forests surround this area of the river, but sandbars abound. This area is known for its outstanding white bass fishing, but the river provides some excellent paddling.
This trip is different from many of our paddling trips as it most suitable for those paddlers who enjoy or think that they might like fresh water kayak fishing. If you have never enjoyed the fast action of catching white bass averaging 3-4 pounds, you do not want to miss this trip. For anyone not liking to fish...you'll have a good time too. If you are interested in this paddle, please reply to http://www.outdoorstudies.com/kayak/
There is a group based out of Beaumont that call themselves Southeast Texas Kayak and Canoe Group. Here is one of their weekend kayak / camping trips that involves fishing for white bass. I'd go but I have committments elswhere that weekend, Chris
Sounds like a good trip. I will have to see if I can fit it in to my schedule.
