ACA Certified Basic Kayak Instruction

FYI - Soutwest Paddlesports Offers classes in Basic Kayaking - we know this, duhh.  But they also offer classes in becoming an ACA Certified Instructor.  It would lend great credibility to our organization if we at least had a couple of ACA Certified Instructors.  Thats not to say we don't already (but I don't know who they are)

To be able to teach Quick Start Your Kayak and Introduction to Kayak ( see ACA website)  we would need to be Level I Kayak certified.  Certification takes 2- 8 hours classes (IDW and ICE - usually on a weekend) for a cost of $200.  The manual and materials are about $30.     

Patti from Southwest Paddle Sports would be our trainer.  She recommends taking the Intro to Kayaking Course before taking the Instructor Developmental Workshop (IDW) and Instructor Certification Exam (ICE).     

I am very interested in getting a few of us certified as instructors.   We could also get CPR certfied for $15 (4 hr class)

Looking for feedback - who else thinks this is a good idea and has interest in pursuing a certification.
